Stacey is a 2016 graduate of the Massage Therapy College of Manitoba (now Evolve College) with a wide variety of experiences including working in a Mongolian hospital, with athletes, in spas and clinics. She is a member of Natural Health Practitioners of Canada (NHPC), has taken additional courses in Craniosacral Therapy (2 courses) Thai Massage (2 courses) and many continuing education webinars. She tends to incorporate techniques from myofascial work, Thai massage techniques on the table and some Swedish relaxation massage into her work.
In her massage career, Stacey has worked in urban and rural areas, spas, clinics and a private mobile massage practice in rural Manitoba. In Manitoba, she started working in the Whiteshell, spent a few years in rural Quebec, then in Riding Mountain National Park, and is now settling down in Winnipeg with Down to Earth Massage at Essential Balance.
She has also volunteered for events, fundraisers, and abroad in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. There, she had the pleasure of working in a hospital with other massage therapists, physiotherapists and traditional medicine practitioners. Stacey has also volunteered at community events for outdoor sports, festivals and fundraisers including Harvest Sun Music festival, running events, and the Gatineau river festival.
Her approach is generally slow and deep, highlighting her thoughtful and caring personality as she “listens” with her hands to facilitate presence in oneself, connecting with the body's natural processes of healing. Her treatments have been described as "intuitive, wise, and thorough."
She is a firm believer that living with nature in mind, connecting to the land and acknowledging land use (we are on treaty 1 Territory, the traditional lands of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota and the heartland of the Métis.) are important parts to living well. You might see her around the city walking her husky, paddling, skiing or skating on the rivers of Winnipeg. If you want to see what she's up to, you can follow her on Instagram or Facebook, both @StaceySpeersMassage, or better yet, book a treatment with her!
